As per the report, Tesla employees were told to prevent any customers who complained about their vehicles' limited driving range from bringing them in for service.They covertly formed a "Diversion Team" in Las Vegas to cancel as many range-related appointments as possible.The team frequently closed hundreds of cases every week, and employees' average number of diverted appointments per day was tracked.
Tesla increased the storm by exaggerating the range of its future electric vehicles, or EVs, boosting buyer expectations beyond what the cars could provide.
The fear of running out of power has been a major barrier to increasing the sales of electric vehicles, and driving range is one of the most crucial aspects in consumer selections about which electric car to buy.According to automotive experts, Tesla cars often fail to meet their promised range estimates and projections made by the cars' own equipment.
There hasn't been any prior information about Tesla's deliberate inflating of in-dash range-meter forecasts and the establishment of its range-complaints diversion team.
