Mahindra announces the debut of Thar EV on August 15

The new Mahindra Thar EV,  will be presented at an upcoming business event on August 15 in South Africa, along with the Scorpio- N pick-up truck.Mahindra has confirmed that the 5 door Thar model will not be shown at that event, with the emphasis instead being on the EV vehicle. It will have a range of 400 kilometers.

The Mahindra Thar Electric idea,  could have a quad motor arrangement, with one motor on each wheel, enabling capabilities like crab-walking, like the Hummer EV.It is likely to cost between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.Mahindra's only electric vehicle at the moment is the XUV400, which has a single motor arrangement and produces 310 Nm of torque and 147.5 horsepower of power. With a 39.4 kWh battery pack, the top-tier model is said to have a 456 km maximum driving range.
