Kia confirms EV9 to launch in 2024
Kia, the South Korean auto giant, is bringing its anticipated three-row electric SUV, the EV9, to India in 2024. This move is part of Kia's big plans for the Indian market. The EV9, showcased earlier in India as a concept, is set to make a splash in the passenger EV segment. Kia aims for about 15% market share, currently led by Tata Motors.
Built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV9 boasts a range of up to 541 kilometers on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging. With a powerful 150 kW electric motor, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 9.4 seconds. Kia, responding to the surging demand for electric vehicles in India, has accelerated its plans.
In addition to the EV9, Kia will reintroduce the new Carnival MPV in 2024, following substantial enhancements to meet stringent emission standards. This premium MPV, temporarily discontinued for upgrades, is set to make a strong comeback in the Indian market.
