Hero Electric and Okinawa Accused of Misappropriating Subsidies Under FAME Scheme 
The Indian government is gearing up to take action against Hero Electric and Okinawa for allegedly misusing subsidies under the FAME scheme. The government has received legal advice and is considering several options, including clawing back wrongly claimed subsidies and registering FIRs. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing into 12 other companies for possible violations. Hero Electric and Okinawa are believed to have claimed subsidies for imported components while falsely declaring them as domestically manufactured. The government has also suspended two OEMs from the FAME scheme and halted the processing of pending claims.
