Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) recently acquired the Talegon plant of General Motors in India ![sharebutton](https://dekhoev.com/WebsiteImages/share.png)
It plans to begin manufacturing by 2025. Hyundai intends to launch electric vehicles under the Hyundai and Kia brands.
The Talegon plant now has a capacity of producing 1,30,000 units per year. Hyundai will increase output at its second manufacturing factory in Sriperambadur. It intends to achieve an annual production capacity of 1 million units.
HMIL has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Tamil Nadu government to invest 20,000 crores in the state to boost EV production capacity and establish an EV ecosystem.
