Ola Electric, Ather Energy, TVS Motor Company, and Hero MotoCorp1 are the four electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India have refunded a total of Rs 10 crore to their customers, out of the Rs 300 crore they agreed to refund.
The reason for the refund is that the companies were found to be selling EV chargers and software as add-ons instead of including them in the price of the EVs, which violated the FAMEII subsidy scheme.
Ola Electric has refunded Rs 4.25 crore out of Rs 130 crore, Ather Energy has refunded Rs 3.97 crore out of Rs 140 crore, TVS Motor Company has refunded Rs 9 lakh out of Rs 15.6 crore, and Hero MotoCorp has refunded Rs 1.64 crore out of Rs 2.23 crore. Source - online news media
